Murin-an is a highly significant historical Japanese garden located in the Nanzen-ji area of Kyoto. It was originally constructed as the private villa for Arimoto Yamagata, a prominent political figure of the Meiji era. The garden's most striking feature is its 'stroll-style' pond design, which utilizes the pure, flowing waters drawn from the Bi-wa Lake Canal. As some parts of the garden may not be paved, we recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes. Please choose clothing appropriate for the current season. For payments, credit cards (Visa/Mastercard) and transportation IC cards are accepted in addition to cash. While there are English signs and some level of English support, using a translation app can be helpful for smoother communication.
