Mizuhashi Hashi Matsuri is a traditional festival held every July in the Mizuhashi area of Toyama City, Toyama Prefecture. Traditionally, cotton soaked in oil was placed on wooden boards (roofing material) to create lights, which were then floated down the river. While the methods of securing materials have changed over time, the traditional spirit of 'floating fire' has been carefully preserved and passed down through generations.
