Mitsui Outlet Park Makuhari is a sophisticated outlet mall located in the Makuhari New City area of Mihama-ku, Chiba City. It offers a curated selection of items from famous domestic and international manufacturers, brands, and select shops, all at outlet prices. The facility is organized into four distinct areas—A-SITE, B-SITE, C-SITE, and D-SITE—covering a vast range of product categories.
The facility originally opened in October 2000 as "Garden Walk Makuhari." Through several phases of expansion and renovation in 2005 and 2015, it has evolved into the large-scale destination seen today. In April 2008, it was renamed to its current name, "Mitsui Outlet Park Makuhari." It serves as a central hub for shopping within the continuously developing Makuhari New City district.
The mall hosts a diverse collection of shops ranging from fashion and sports to lifestyle goods. Notable brands such as agnès b., COACH, Nike, ASICS, Adidas, and Levi's are among the many names available. The primary draw is the ability to purchase these premium brand products at significantly lower prices than usual. Beyond shopping, the facility also features an extensive restaurant area for a complete dining experience.
Standard shop operating hours are 10:00 to 20:00. For the restaurant area, hours vary by establishment; for example, venues like "The Meat Locker," "Pizzeria Trentadore," and "Chawan" typically operate from 11:00 to 21:30 (Last Order 20:30). On Fridays, Saturdays, and the evenings before public holidays, restaurant hours are extended until 22:00 (Last Order 21:00), allowing for a relaxed dinner during your visit. Some shops may also offer late-night closing hours until 21:00 on specific days.
The primary experience at this facility is high-end brand shopping. Visitors can enjoy the excitement of comparing various domestic and international brands to find the best deals. Additionally, the restaurant area offers a diverse culinary experience, ranging from Italian to Japanese cuisine. A common way to enjoy the facility is to balance active shopping with relaxing breaks and meals in a comfortable atmosphere.
The facility is exceptionally well-located, just a 1-minute walk from JR Kaihimmakuhari Station. The surrounding Makuhari New City area is a vibrant commercial hub, home to other major attractions like LaLaport TOKYO-BAY. For those traveling by car, the nearest access points are the Wangan-Chiba Interchange on the Higashi-Kanto Expressway and the Makuhari Interchange on the Keiyo Road.
As the facility covers a large area, we highly recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes. Regarding payments, most stores accept major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, JCB, American Express, etc.), though some may require cash. The facility is designed with accessibility in mind, featuring wheelchair-accessible entrances, restrooms, and parking. While no prior reservations are generally required, checking the crowd status before your visit can help ensure a smoother experience.
