Minakami Takaragi Ski Resort is a premier ski resort located in Minakami Town, Gun Gunma Prefecture. The resort is a key pillar of the local ski culture in Gunma Prefecture. The lift system utilizes the SKIDATA IC card system, which is compatible with the 'POWDER4 Gunma' network. This allows for smooth transitions and shared usage with other major nearby resorts such as Marunuma Kogen, White World Oze-Iwakura, and Kawaba Ski Resort, integrating the area into a cohesive regional skiing experience.
The slopes consist of multiple courses that can be selected based on terrain and snow conditions. For those looking to test their skills, a dedicated snow park is also available. Additionally, the resort features quad lifts equipped with hoods to protect visitors from the cold. The facility includes well-maintained restaurants and a center house, providing a comfortable environment to rest and enjoy meals between runs.
The resort operates primarily during the winter season, specifically from December through March. The best months to visit are December, January, February, and March. Standard operating hours are from 8:15 to 16:30, though these may vary depending on the day of the week or specific seasonal conditions. Please note that rental services may have specific time slots, such as morning (8:15–13:00) and afternoon (12:00–16:30) sessions.
Skiing and snowboarding are the primary activities. A wide range of rental equipment is available, including skis (Adults 140cm–170cm, Children 90cm–150cm), snowboards (Adults 134cm–160cm, Children 90cm–130cm), boots, and clothing (Sizes S–4L). Please note that small accessories like gloves, hats, and goggles are typically sold rather than rented.
The Minakami area is a beautiful region perfect for enjoying nature beyond just skiing. Minakami Takaragi is part of a network that allows travelers to use seasonal passes at other nearby resorts like Marunuma Kogen, White World Oze-Iwakura, and Kawaba Ski Resort.
For safety, wearing a helmet is highly recommended, and it is mandatory when using the snow park. To prevent accidents, please follow manufacturer guidelines when using airboards and follow instructor directions.
