Rather than being just a scenic spot, it serves an educational role, managed by the local community to ensure that the lessons of the past are used to strengthen future disaster prevention efforts.
The primary attraction is the observation area overlooking the Matsurushi Ohashi Bridge. From this high vantage point, you can observe the bridge's structure and the surrounding terrain in detail. The observation area is a free public space, so no entrance fee is required. For any nearby facilities, cash or credit cards (Visa/MasterCard, etc.) are generally accepted.
While some signage may be in English, most detailed explanations are in Japanese. It is highly recommended to use a smartphone translation app to better understand the exhibits.
No prior reservation is required. The site is accessible 24 hours a day.
As this is an outdoor observation deck, please dress according to the season. Bring a hat and water for summer, and ensure you have warm clothing for winter. Comfortable walking shoes are highly recommended.
