Matsue Vogel Park is an all-weather themed park located in the hilly area of Ogaki-cho, Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture. The park features several specialized greenhouses, including a large exhibition greenhouse where flowers are in full bloom year-round, and various aviaries where you can interact with diverse bird species. Because the different facilities are connected by covered walkways, you can explore the park comfortably even during rain or unstable weather conditions.
The park opened its doors on July 23, 2001. Currently managed by a designated administrator under the Ichibata Electric Railway group, it has become a beloved local landmark. The facility is designed to harmonize with the natural environment, serving as a long-standing destination for visitors to appreciate the beauty of birds and seasonal flora.
The centerpiece of the park is the vast exhibition greenhouse. Beautiful flowers such as Begonias, Fuchsias, and Geraniums are displayed in full bloom regardless of the season. In the bird aviaries, you can observe many exotic bird species from around the world. Near the entrance, there is also a dedicated owl exhibition room. A highlight for many visitors is the 140-meter long moving walkway, which allows you to observe the birds comfortably while moving through the park. Since all paths and greenhouses are connected by roofs, you can enjoy the experience without being affected by the weather.
You can enjoy the blooming flowers in the greenhouses in any season. The exhibition greenhouse, filled with stunning Begonias and Fuchsias, is well worth a visit throughout the year. For activities involving direct interaction with birds, it is recommended to visit in the early afternoon, as some sessions may end around 16:45. Please note that closing times may be extended during special event periods.
Visitors can enjoy observing and interacting with various birds. The owl exhibition near the entrance offers a close-up look at these majestic birds. The park offers a relaxing atmosphere where you can spend quality time with nature. Additionally, the on-site restaurant, "Flora," allows you to enjoy a meal while soaking in the beautiful atmosphere of the park.
Matsue Vogel Park is conveniently located near the Ichibata Railway, just a short walk from the "Matsue Vogel Park Station." It is also easily accessible by car from central Matsue in about 15 minutes via Route 431. The surrounding area is dotted with various spots where you can experience the natural beauty and culture of Shimane Prefecture.
The park is designed with barrier-free accessibility, making it suitable for wheelchair users. We recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes. While the covered walkways and greenhouses protect you from rain, please adjust your attire based on the weather.
