Nidec Kyoto Tower is a 131-meter landmark located right next to JR Kyoto Station, the gateway to the city. Characterized by its distinctive white, slender silhouette, the tower was designed to serve as a 'lighthouse' illuminating the city of Kyoto. The greatest charm of the tower is the observation deck, which offers a 360-degree view of the cityscape, allowing visitors to enjoy the ever-changing scenery of Kyoto's seasons.
The tower was constructed to serve as a central hub for Kyoto's industry, culture, and tourism, contributing to the city's development. Even after 61 years since its construction, it continues to play a symbolic role, warmly welcoming visitors to the city.
The upper part of the tower features an oval-shaped observation deck located at approximately 100 meters above ground. From here, you can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of the Kyoto metropolitan area. The tower also houses a variety of facilities, including restaurants to enjoy fine dining, a market filled with traditional Kyoto souvenirs, and an integrated hotel. Free binoculars are also provided in the observation deck to help you see the scenery in more detail.
You can experience different views at Kyoto Tower depending on the time of day and the season. During the day, you can look out over the vast cityscape and feel the changing seasons. At night, the tower offers a spectacular view of the illuminated city. Since the atmosphere changes significantly depending on the hour, we recommend visiting both during the day and at night.
Beyond admiring the view from the observation deck, dining and shopping within the building are also great activities. Just below the observation deck, there is a Sky Lounge where you can enjoy meals alongside the scenery. Additionally, the basement area, 'KYOTO TOWER SANDO,' features a dining and shopping area where you can experience Kyoto's food culture. Since the tower also includes a hotel, it is a perfect place to stay and enjoy your visit as a base for sightseeing.
Because Nidec Kyoto Tower is located very close to JR Kyoto Station, there are many sightseeing hubs nearby. The area has excellent transportation links to various parts of Kyoto, making the tower a very convenient starting point for your sightseeing or a perfect place to conclude your journey.

Entry to the observation deck generally does not require a prior reservation, but please check the official website for information regarding crowd status.
