This location is deeply connected to a pivotal moment in Japanese history. In the spring of 1600 (the Keicho era), the Dutch ship "Liefde" drifted ashore at Kuroshima. On board were key figures such as the English navigator William Adams (known in Japan as Miura Anjin) and the Dutch pilot Jan Josse. These individuals played a crucial role in introducing Western technology, including weaponry and navigation techniques, to Japan, eventually serving as influential advisors to Tokugawa Ieyasu. The arrival of the Liefde represents a major turning point in Japan's early international relations and technological exchange.

There are no shops on the beach, so ensure you bring sufficient food and water.
