ASDF Air Park (known as Air Park) is a public relations facility for the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) located in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture. The facility showcases a variety of JASDF equipment, including fighter jets, trainer aircraft, helicopters, and missiles. The facility consists of a museum and a display hangar, providing an environment where you can observe aircraft and related equipment from a very close distance. Because it is adjacent to the air base, the observation space allows visitors to watch actual aircraft performing training maneuvers in real-time.
This facility is operated to deepen public understanding of the JASDF's equipment and operations. The aircraft and equipment on display serve as concrete historical and technical records of the JASDF's capabilities and technological evolution. The display hangar is situated next to the south taxiway of the base, and during special events, aircraft are often positioned on the apron in front of the hangar for better visibility.

Inside the museum, you can see actual fighter jets, helicopters, and missiles. Beyond static displays, the facility offers interactive content such as the Blue Impulse simulator, a full-dome theater, and even opportunities to try on flight suits and helmets. These exhibits provide a tangible look at the equipment and lifestyle of JASDF pilots. The aircraft on display are representative of the various roles and technical specifications used by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force.
While the facility is generally open during daytime hours, special events like 'Twilight Openings' (nighttime access) may be held periodically. Depending on the season, you might encounter special displays such as ground taxi training, specific aircraft models (like the T-4, T-400, or UH-60J), vehicle displays, or even security dog demonstrations. Please check the official website for the latest event schedules and details.

Visitors can participate in various educational and interactive programs. These include the Blue Impulse flight simulator, immersive video experiences in the full-dome theater, and specialized lectures on air traffic control, aviation meteorology, and basic aircraft engines. These programs are designed to deepen your knowledge of aviation in an engaging way.
The facility is located right next to the JASDF Hamamatsu Air Base. The surrounding area includes the urban center of Hamamatsu City, making it an easy stop during a sightseeing trip. Within the facility, you can also find 'MUSEUM SHOP TSUBASA' for souvenirs, 'Sky Lounge Fuji' for refreshments, and 'Tanaka Photo Studio' for commemorative photos.

Visitors can observe exhibits, use simulators, and participate in lectures. Please follow all rules when handling equipment or interacting with displays. While there are shops and a cafe on-site, please check payment methods in advance. As this is a facility adjacent to a military base, visitors are expected to maintain high standards of etiquette and follow all instructions to ensure order and security.
