Kenritsu Shiki no Mori Koen is a precious natural park located in the urban area of Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, that preserves the traditional Japanese 'Satoyama' landscape. This vast park features rice paddies, ponds, watermills, and lush woodlands, offering visitors a serene escape from the bustle of daily life.
The most striking feature is the vibrant change of seasons. In spring, delicate trillium flowers bloom, while early summer brings the magical sight of dancing fireflies and the presence of kingfishers near the ponds. This makes it an ideal spot for nature observation and a wonderful destination for families, with various playground facilities that cater to all generations.
Developed to protect the natural environment and pass down the 'Satoyama' culture—where human life and nature exist in harmony—this park serves as a living classroom. The preservation of traditional landscapes like watermills and rice paddies helps visitors learn about the historical relationship between Japanese people and the natural world.

It features a 'Jabujabu' water play area, a jumbo slide, and various complex play structures, allowing kids to stay active in a natural setting. While the park is nestled near residential and commercial areas of Yokohama, it remains a pristine natural space. Please wear comfortable walking shoes as some paths are unpaved. To maintain the environment, please do not pick plants, feed wildlife, or use any fire (including BBQs). There are no trash cans on-site, so please carry your trash home with you.
