The history of this park is deeply rooted in the prestigious residences that once stood here. The grounds are divided into the area utilizing the former Mitsui family villa site and the area of the former residence of Shigeru Yoshida, a significant figure in Japanese political history. Local lore even suggests that a historical site called "Koiso Castle" once existed in this vicinity, adding a layer of historical depth to the land. Today, these grand estates have been preserved as a public park, allowing many to touch upon both history and nature in one place.
The park is primarily composed of two distinct areas: the "Former Mitsui Villa Area" on the mountain side and the "Former Yoshida Residence Area" on the sea side. In the Mitsui area, you can experience cultural depth through the "Joyaman" tea house, the Kitakura Gallery, and the Oiso Town Local History Museum. An observation deck also offers beautiful views of the surrounding scenery.
