Kemajayunosamiya Park is a scenic urban park located at the upper reaches of the Okawa River, spanning the Kita and Miyakojima wards of Osaka. It is designed as a riverside park stretching approximately 4.2km north to south, creating a breathtaking landscape defined by its continuous rows of cherry blossom trees. Despite being situated in the heart of the city, the park offers an expansive, open atmosphere that allows visitors to feel a deep connection with nature.
The park's name is derived from the nearby Sakuranomiya Shrine, a site of historical and spiritual significance. The area surrounding the Okawa River has been celebrated as a premier spot for viewing cherry blossoms since ancient times. This region maintains a unique harmony between history and modernity, where historical architecture, such as the nearby Japan Mint, coexists with the natural beauty of the riverbanks.

The absolute highlight of the park is the cherry blossom promenade along the banks of the Okawa River. In spring, the view of the flowing water framed by pink blossoms is truly spectacular. The section near the Japan Mint is particularly famous for showing the changing face of nature with each season. Additionally, the park serves as a vital community space, featuring facilities like the Sakuranomiya Stadium, making it a popular spot for both locals and tourists.
The most iconic time to visit is during spring, specifically from March to April, when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom. During the day, you can enjoy a peaceful stroll through the lush, sunlit scenery. In the evening, the atmosphere shifts as the natural beauty of the river blends with the glowing lights of the surrounding cityscape, offering a unique and romantic ambiance.

Visitors can enjoy leisurely walks along the riverside promenade. It is an ideal place for walking, jogging, or simply sitting by the river to relax and enjoy the gentle flow of the water. The environment offers a perfect blend of urban culture and natural tranquility, allowing you to experience the seasonal shifts of Osaka in a relaxing setting.
The park is surrounded by major landmarks and amenities, including Osaka Castle Park, the Imperial Hotel Osaka, and the Mint Museum. It is also conveniently located near major transport hubs like JR Sakuranomiya Station and Tenmabashi Station, making it easy to integrate a visit to the park into a broader Osaka sightseeing itinerary. Various restaurants and shops are also located in the vicinity.

For a comfortable visit, we recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes. While the park is an open space, please dress according to the seasonal temperature to stay comfortable. As this is a public space, please observe local etiquette: respect the environment, keep noise levels low, and ensure you take all your trash with you when leaving.
