Keihimi Shrine (Ryuo-gu) is situated on Ryuo Cape, a prominent landmark at the southern end of the curving coastline of Urado Bay in Kochi City. At the top of this cape, two sacred shrines stand: Keihimi Shrine (Ryuo-gu) and Hayataka Shrine. Due to its strategic geographical position at the mouth of Urado Bay, this site has been a center of faith for maritime safety and prosperous fishing since ancient times. The primary deity of Keihimi Shrine (Ryuo-gu) is Owatatsumi-no-kami, a powerful deity presiding over maritime safety, bountiful fishing, weather control (rain and sunshine), business prosperity, and successful relationships. Adjacent to it, Hayataka Shrine enshrines Yamato Takeru-no-mikoto. Both shrines are managed by Wakamiya Hachiman-gu, serving as a historical testament to the deep-rooted spiritual connection between the local community and the sea.
