Kano-gawa Sakura Park is a beautiful, nature-rich destination located along the Kano River in Izunokuni City, Shizuoka Prefecture. The park's most iconic feature is its magnificent cherry blossom tunnel, which stretches approximately 450 meters along the riverbank. Every year, from late March to early April, it becomes a famous destination for cherry blossom enthusiasts. On clear days, you can experience a breathtaking view where the soft pink petals of the Somei Yoshino cherry blossoms perfectly frame the majestic, snow-capped peak of Mount Fuji. The adjacent wide riverbanks offer a relaxing space for walking, picnics, and enjoying the natural scenery.
The area is a symbol of the local natural heritage, with efforts focused on preserving the scenic beauty of the Kano River basin. The landscape has long been cherished for its riverfront views, and the current rows of cherry trees have been carefully maintained to enhance this cultural landscape.
