Iris no Oka is a renowned flower park in Annaka City, Gunma Prefecture, often called a 'Flower Paradise.' Spanning a vast area of approximately 3 hectares, this elevated hill is home to a diverse collection of plants, including German Iris, Daylilies, and Dahlias. The park features a unique collection of rare plants, including seeds imported from around the world and original varieties developed in-house. The landscape is designed to utilize the natural terrain, creating a beautiful gradient of colors that changes with every season.
The park is dedicated to exploring botanical diversity through the cultivation of high-quality plants. It is particularly famous for its German Iris, often called the 'Rainbow Flower,' boasting a scale of 1,000 varieties and 100,000 plants. To preserve the natural essence of the landscape, the park avoids artificial elements like asphalt paving or man-made fences, ensuring a harmonious environment where visitors can feel truly connected to nature.

Iris no Oka is conveniently located near famous hot spring destinations like Ikaho Onsen and Isobe Onsen, as well as the historical Tomioka Silk Mill and Karuizawa area. It is a perfect stop to include in a broader Gunma sightseeing itinerary.
As the park utilizes natural terrain, some areas are unpaved. We highly recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes.
