Ikspiari is a large-scale commercial complex located within the Tokyo Disney Resort area in Urayasu, Chiba Prefecture. More than just a typical shopping mall, it is designed as a "city of stories and entertainment," creating a complete, immersive environment. The facility brings together approximately 140 shops, restaurants, and a state-of-the-art cinema complex, ensuring that every visit offers new discoveries.
The name "Ikspiari" is a portmanteau of "Experience" and "Peri," a benevolent spirit from Persian mythology. This symbolizes the destination's mission: to provide a place where visitors can escape the everyday and enjoy extraordinary experiences.
Opened on July 7, 2000, as part of the Tokyo Disney Resort development plan, Ikspiari utilizes a design theme that blends Eastern and Western influences. The architecture is inspired by the charming, narrow streets of coastal towns like Carmel, California, where unique boutiques line quaint alleyways, making the act of walking through the complex a delightful experience in itself.
Managed by a group company of Oriental Land Co., Ltd. (the operator of Tokyo Disneyland), Ikspiari has established its own unique brand value distinct from the Disney brand while remaining a cultural cornerstone for both tourists and local residents at the resort's gateway.

The most striking feature of Ikspiari is its layout, divided into nine distinct themed zones. The facility follows an "8-shaped" circulation path, allowing visitors to enjoy different landscapes as they move through the complex.
For instance, "Museum Lane" features alleys inspired by old Mediterranean port towns, while "The Courtyard" offers the atmosphere of a rustic, brick-lined market. "Theater Front," with its high ceilings and dramatic lighting, creates a grand entrance to the cinema that evokes the feeling of Hollywood. Exploring these diverse zones feels like wandering through various international cities.
Ikspiari is accessible from morning until late at night. During the day, it is perfect for a bright, breezy stroll through open areas like the Garden Sites. As evening approaches, the atmosphere transforms; the lighting in Theater Front and the beautifully illuminated alleyways create a magical ambiance. We recommend enjoying a sophisticated dinner at a restaurant or catching a movie at the cinema after a day at the theme parks.
Beyond shopping, Ikspiari offers rich cultural and culinary experiences. You can enjoy global cuisines at "Chef's Row" or discover unique items at seasonal pop-up shops. Street performers, such as mimes or musicians, occasionally add a layer of live entertainment to your walk. It is also a great place to experience the latest entertainment through its cinema complex.
Ikspiari is situated immediately adjacent to Tokyo Disney Resort. It is easily accessible via walking or the Disney Resort Line monorail to reach Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea. Many hotels, including the Disney Ambassador Hotel, are also nearby, making it a highly convenient hub for your resort stay.
Since the complex covers a large area, we highly recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes. The facility is designed with accessibility in mind, making it easy to navigate with strollers or wheelchairs. While many shops offer English-language menus and signage, please check with staff for detailed assistance. For certain theaters or events, advanced reservations may be required.
