Iga Hachiman-gu is a historic shrine located in Iga-cho, Okazaki City, Aichi Prefecture. Records show that in 1535, during the Battle of Idaten, Matsudaira Hidetada prayed for victory, leading to the construction of the shrine buildings and the offering of bows and arrows. The shrine has a deep connection to the Tokugawa family; the shrine buildings were renovated by Tokugawa Ieyasu and expanded by the third Shogun, Iemitsu. During the Edo period, it was customary for the Lord of the Okazaki Domain to visit on behalf of the Shogun on April 17, the anniversary of Ieyasu's death.
