It was officially designated as a protected garden in 1974 under the Morioka City Ordinance for the Preservation of Natural and Historical Environments. The villa and its surrounding gardens were originally constructed in the late Meiji era by Hiroshi Abe, a prominent politician from Morioka. This site serves as an essential piece of the region's living history. Today, the garden is meticulously managed and preserved by the city of Morioka, maintaining a seamless harmony between architectural elegance and natural beauty.
The history of this estate dates back to the late Meiji era, when it was established by the politician Hiroshi Abe. In response to local citizens' requests for its preservation, the City of Morioka acquired the site in 1989. Since the garden features natural terrain, we highly recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes. As admission is free, no payment is required for entry.
