Located in Kasai City, Hyogo Prefecture, the Hyogo Flower Center is an expansive botanical garden that offers a profound connection with nature. The garden is meticulously designed to showcase the changing beauty of the seasons, providing a diverse-looking landscape throughout the year. A standout feature is the greenhouse area, which boasts one of Japan's finest collections, including tuberous begonias, carnivorous plants, and orchids. This allows visitors to witness a remarkable variety of botanical life in a controlled, fascinating environment.
Established in 1976, this facility serves as both a public garden and a center for plant exhibition and research. The facility is structured to preserve and pass down botanical culture, featuring specialized greenhouses and areas dedicated to specific plant species and seasonal displays.

The garden is divided into two main sections: the North and South areas. The North area features specialized gardens such as the Sakura (Cherry Blossom) Garden, Rhododendron Garden, Peony Garden, Hydrangea Garden, and the Azalea Path, allowing visitors to enjoy different floral highlights depending on the season. The central area is anchored by the scenic Kaminokura Pond, which creates a beautiful landscape backdrop. The greenhouse complex is exceptionally rich, featuring specialized rooms for Seasonal Flowers, Tuberous Begonias, Tropical Plants, Gesneriads, Orchids, and Carnivorous Plants. The collection of carnivorous plants and begonias is particularly renowned among enthusiasts.
The garden's character shifts beautifully with the seasons. In spring, you can enjoy cherry blossoms, peonies, and hydrangeas; in summer, tropical plants take center stage; and in autumn, the seasonal foliage provides a stunning display. For the best experience, we recommend visiting in the early morning when the air is fresh and the plants look most vibrant. Additionally, the greenhouses are an excellent option regardless of the weather, as they allow you to observe plant life comfortably even on cloudy or unstable days.

Visitors can learn about the mechanisms of nature and plant diversity through direct observation. By exploring the various specialized rooms within the greenhouse, you can see much rarer species, such as exotic tropical plants and unique carnivorous plants, up close. Walking through the vast grounds to admire seasonal blooms offers a perfect way to disconnect from daily life and relax in a natural setting.
The center is nestled within the rich natural environment of Kasai City. There are several scenic spots nearby where you can continue to enjoy the local landscape. We recommend a route that includes a stroll through the surrounding natural scenery after your visit to the botanical garden.

As the garden covers a large area and involves walking among delicate plants, we highly recommend wearing comfortable clothing and walking shoes. Since the temperature and humidity inside the greenhouses can differ from the outdoor environment, wearing layers that are easy to adjust is ideal. Please respect the garden rules and maintain a high level of awareness to protect the plants during your visit.
