Hongo no Sennenzakura is a legendary cherry tree located within the former Myozenji Temple grounds in Nanbu Town, Minami Koma District, Yamanashi Prefecture. Estimated to be between 500 and 600 years old, it is a designated Prefectural Natural Monument. It is highly regarded in the field of botany due to its extraordinary and unique structure. The most striking feature is its roots, which have taken hold within a hollow in the tree trunk approximately 5 meters above the ground, creating a visual spectacle that is truly one of a kind.
