Hirayu O-nezuko is a magnificent Kurobe fir (an evergreen tree) located in the Okuhida Onsen village area of Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture. With an estimated age of 1,000 years, a height of 23 meters, and a massive trunk circumference of 760 cm, it has been officially selected as one of the '100 Great Trees of the Forest.' Its imposing presence tells a story of survival and strength through countless centuries.
This site has been carefully protected by local communities for generations. The history of this area is deeply rooted in a respect for nature, with local villagers working to preserve the surrounding ecosystem.
