Hibikinada Green Park, located in Wakamatsu Ward, Kitakyushu, is a vast recreational space centered on the themes of 'Water, Greenery, and Wildlife.' The park is divided into several distinct areas, including a large lawn, a tropical ecological garden, a rose garden, and the Hibiki Animal World. A standout feature is the Guinness World Records™ certified world's longest swing, measuring 163.35 meters. Additionally, the park is home to a zoo featuring approximately 250 marsupials.
This facility was developed as part of urban greening and natural conservation efforts. Since its opening in 1992, it has served as a major green space for Kitakyushu City. While the park once featured different structures like the 'Hibiki Playland' amusement area and the rotating 'Hibiki Tower,' the current configuration focuses on a blend of nature, botanical education, and animal interaction.
The park offers several themed zones for exploration. At Hibiki Animal World, visitors can observe various marsupials, including different species of kangaroos (such as Eastern Grey Kangaroos and Wallabies). The Kangaroo Plaza provides a unique space for closer interaction with these animals. The Tropical Ecological Garden and greenhouses are also excellent places to observe plant growth patterns influenced by temperature changes. The park is generally open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Visiting during the peak blooming seasons allows you to see the landscape at its most vibrant, whether you are interested in botanical displays or watching animal activity.
