Herb Garden Tabinikki Katsunuma Garden is a themed garden where you can feel the essence of flowers, scents, greenery, and the breeze. The garden displays a variety of herbs and flowers that change with the seasons, inviting visitors into a world of profound relaxation. The most distinctive feature is the ability to actually touch the herbs within the garden, allowing you to experience their textures and fragrances directly with your fingertips. Through this intimate connection with nature, you can forget the hustle and bustle of daily life and enjoy a luxurious time sharpening your senses.
This garden is more than just a place for visual appreciation; it is a cherished space for sharing the culture of herbs and the joy of handmade crafts. It serves as a community-rooted institution that teaches visitors how to live closely with nature's blessings and how to utilize herbs in daily life. The garden is meticulously managed so that visitors can directly feel the vitality of plants as they transition through the seasons, fostering a deep appreciation for the natural world.

The garden features beautiful flower beds with seasonal blooms and a large greenhouse where you can enjoy herbs year-round. The greenhouse is particularly wonderful during the cooler autumn and winter months, creating a cozy space filled with lush greenery and pleasant aromas. Since the herbs are meant to be touched, you can experience the texture and scent of the plants firsthand. Additionally, the onsite shop and cafe allow you to spend a relaxing time between your strolls.
Each season offers a different charm. In spring and summer, you can fully enjoy the vibrant colors of the blooming flowers. In autumn, the garden offers a more tranquil atmosphere to observe the changing seasons. During winter, the large greenhouse becomes the highlight; even on chilly days, you can relax in the warm, fragrant air of the greenhouse. For the best experience, we recommend starting your stroll in the relatively cool morning hours and then enjoying a break at the cafe.

The "Tezukuri Kobo" (Handmade Workshop) offers a variety of hands-on activities for both children and adults. For example, you can create your own unique herb goods, such as transparent gel candle holders or experience the extraction of essential oils. These activities are not just sightseeing but a precious opportunity to create a tangible memory of your trip. Please note that workshop registration is held at the flower shop located just to the right after entering the garden.
The Katsunuma area is highly famous as a premier wine-producing region. After a healing experience at the herb garden, a wonderful plan is to visit nearby wineries or enjoy a lunch while gazing at the beautiful scenery. You can enjoy a luxurious holiday experiencing both the fragrance of plants and the rich aroma of fine wine in this nature-rich environment.

As the garden is a natural environment, we recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes. Depending on the season, a hat to avoid direct sunlight or a light jacket to adjust to temperature changes may be useful. When touching the herbs, please handle them gently to avoid damaging the plants. Please check the tips below for details regarding payments and workshop registration.
