Hachi Hachi Kita Kogen Ski Resort, located in Kami Town, Hyogo Prefecture, is one of the largest ski resorts in the Kansai region. The resort is divided into two main areas: Hachi Kogen and Hachi Kita Kogen, both famous for having some of the best snow quality in Western Japan. The slopes cater to a wide range of skill levels, from gentle courses for beginners to challenging terrain for advanced skiers and snowboarders. Whether you are visiting with family or looking for a serious snowboarding experience, this resort offers an unforgettable winter adventure.
The area has long been celebrated for its rich natural environment and has evolved into a premier winter destination for the Kansai region. The resort even hosts specialized schools, such as those led by legendary professional skier Yuichiro Miura, contributing to the development of skiing culture and technical skill in Japan. Beyond the slopes, the surrounding area offers a blend of traditional nature and local culture, including nearby hot spring facilities that allow visitors to relax after a day of skiing.

Hachi Kita Kogen features diverse terrain that utilizes the natural landscape. For instance, the "North Wall" (Kita Kabe) is a famous section that becomes a thrilling mogul slope during peak season. For families and beginners, the "Panorama" and "Central" slopes are ideal, providing a safe and scenic environment for cruising. Additionally, the dedicated snow park and kids' park make it an excellent destination for children to enjoy the snow safely.
The best season to visit is from December to March. January and February are particularly recommended as the snow quality is most stable, making it perfect for serious enthusiasts. During the bright daylight hours, we recommend cruising through the Panorama slopes for breathtaking views. Advanced skiers should head to the North Wall area to experience the dynamic changes in terrain. To avoid crowds, consider visiting on weekday mornings, as weekends and holidays can be quite busy.

In addition to skiing and snowboarding, there are plenty of activities for the whole family. The Kids' Park provides a safe environment for even the youngest children to play in the snow. You can also participate in specialized events, such as snowboarding certifications or schools related to Yuichiro Miura, to improve your skills. Various restaurants and rest areas are located throughout the resort, allowing you to enjoy warm meals and relaxation between runs.
The area surrounding the ski resort is well-equipped with accommodation and hot spring facilities, making it easy to plan an extended stay. Using nearby facilities like Hachi Kita Onsen is a wonderful way to soothe your muscles after a day on the slopes. Additionally, the nearby area features natural spots like the "Tamba Kogen Botanical Garden," which can be enjoyed even outside the winter season.
Basic equipment such as ski/snowboard wear, gloves, goggles, and helmets are essential. As temperatures can drop significantly, please ensure you have thorough cold-weather protection. Regarding transportation, there are two types of parking: the slope parking and the inn-district parking. Please note that some-roads may be closed during winter, so check your destination in advance. For payments and facility usage, please consult the official website or local signage.
