Fukushima Teppen Park is a beautiful observation park situated in the Fukushima district of Toyooka Village, Shimoina District, Nagano Prefecture. The park features an elevated observation deck that provides a stunning 360-degree panoramic view, allowing visitors to gaze upon the majestic mountains and the charming cityscape of the Ina Valley. The space was intentionally designed by clearing surrounding trees to create an open, unobstructed landscape. On clear days, the view is truly spectacular, stretching far toward distant mountain ranges.
This park was developed based on local community planning to preserve and highlight the natural beauty of the region. While the area was once densely forested, the landscape was carefully managed to ensure wide-open vistas. Today, it is widely known as a scenic spot where one can experience the beauty of the 'Shinshu Hometown View,' serving as a peaceful retreat for both locals and travelers to enjoy the changing seasons.

The greatest attraction is the 360-degree observation deck and terrace. The high vantage point offers a dynamic perspective of the surrounding topography. A unique highlight is the 'Flying Broom' installation; visitors can use this to take playful photos that make it look as if you are jumping through the air, creating a magical, flying sensation. Additionally, the park features well-maintained walking paths and grassy slopes, making it a wonderful place for light exercise and leisure.
You can enjoy different landscapes throughout the four seasons. In spring and summer, the mountains are lush and green, while in winter, you can witness a serene, snow-covered landscape. On clear nights, you might even see the twinkling lights of the Iida area. For the best experience, we recommend visiting on a clear, sunny day when visibility is at its peak.
Beyond sightseeing, visitors can relax at the 'Azumaya' (rest houses/gazebos) provided within the park. The area is perfect for a leisurely stroll along the walking paths or enjoying the grassy areas. Depending on the season, there may be local events such as lantern festivals or seasonal illuminations. It is a perfect place to feel the refreshing mountain breeze and unwind.
Located in the Fukushima district of Toyooka Village, the park is surrounded by a beautiful Satoyama landscape (traditional Japanese countryside). It is a popular destination for driving tours and motorcycle enthusiasts. The most common access route is via the Prefectural Road 18 (Inasana Iida Line).
As the park is located on high ground, weather conditions and wind can change rapidly. Please dress appropriately for the season and prepare for potential wind.
