The Fukuoka Art Museum is a premier cultural institution located within the beautiful Ohori Park in the heart of Fukuoka City. Following a significant renewal in 2019, the museum offers a state-of-the-art exhibition environment. The museum is generally open from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM. However, during the summer season from July to October, the museum extends its hours on Fridays and Saturdays until 8:00 PM, allowing for a relaxing evening visit. Visiting during the mild spring or autumn seasons is highly recommended to enjoy the beautiful landscapes of Ohori Park alongside the exhibitions.
Inside the museum, families can enjoy the 'Mori no Tane' (Seeds of the Forest) kids' space, designed by artist Kanae Ogi. This area features art-inspired objects that encourage children to engage with creativity. To ensure a pleasant experience for everyone, please follow these rules: Inside the exhibition rooms, only pencils are permitted for sketching. Please set your mobile phones to silent mode and refrain from making calls. For storage, coin-operated lockers are available on the 1st floor (next to the museum shop) and the 2nd-floor lobby. Umbrellas should be placed in the designated umbrella stands at the entrances. Please do not touch the artworks or display cases. Photography policies vary by exhibition; please check the signs in each room before taking photos.
