Fuji Sansaku Park is a municipal quasi-urban park designed to maximize the stunning views of Mount Fuji and the surrounding natural environment. The park utilizes its natural sloping terrain to create a beautiful landscape, featuring various tree species such as the 'Fuji Sakura' and 'Rengetsu Tsutsuji' (Azalea). It offers a perfect space to spend time in nature, complete with a nature learning area where you can observe wildflowers native to the northern foothills of Mount Fuji, as well as spacious lawn areas for relaxation.
The park was developed to preserve and utilize the unique natural environment at the foot of Mount Fuji. It serves as an important location for observing and learning about the local ecosystem. The trees and flowers planted throughout the park are carefully selected to represent and preserve the natural heritage of this specific region, making it an educational resource for visitors.
There are several distinct areas within the park designed for observing nature alongside the majestic view of Mount Fuji. The most notable features are the viewing decks that offer panoramic vistas and the areas filled with seasonal flora. The park is well-equipped with maintained walking paths and a lawn area, allowing visitors to enjoy the landscape comfortably. The strategic placement of trees like the 'Fuji Sakura' ensures that the scenery changes beautifully with each season, providing a dynamic experience for photographers and nature lovers.
Opening hours vary depending on the season. Generally, the park is open from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. However, during the summer and autumn, the closing time is extended. From May 15th to August 31st, the park stays open until 7:00 PM, and from September 1st to September 30th, it is open until 6:30 PM. To get the best experience of the Mount Fuji views and the seasonal blooms, we recommend visiting on clear, sunny days.
Visitors can enjoy a relaxing stroll through the park using the well-maintained walking paths and the main slope. The nature learning area provides a wonderful opportunity to observe the diverse wildflowers that grow naturally in the northern Fuji foothills. You can also enjoy a peaceful break on the lawn areas, surrounded by the sounds and sights of nature. The paths are specifically designed to follow the natural topography, making the walk an engaging experience.
The park is located near several key tourist and public facilities in Fujiyoshida City. Nearby attractions include the Fuji San Arena, Michi-no-Eki Fuji Yoshida (roadside station), the Historical and Folklore Museum, and the Local Industry Center. Additionally, the park is easily accessible via Route 138, a major sightseeing route in the Mount Fuji area.
When exploring the park, please act with respect for the natural environment. Picking plants, damaging park facilities, or making loud noises is strictly prohibited. Please be aware that there are wild boar traps installed in certain areas of the park; please keep a safe distance. Always carry your trash back with you to keep the park clean. Pets are not allowed within the park. For your comfort, we recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes suitable for uneven terrain.
