Fuji Kachoen is a unique flower and bird theme park located in the Asagiri Plateau at the western foot of Mt. Fuji in Fujinomiya City, Shizuoka Prefecture. The facility features a fully climate-controlled, all-weather structure, allowing visitors to enjoy seasonal flowers and interact with various bird species regardless of the outside temperature or weather conditions. It offers a serene environment to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life.
The facility originally opened in 1990 as the "Fuji International Garden." In 2008, it was renamed to its current name, "Fuji Kachoen." For many years, it has been operated as a specialized theme park that combines the natural elements of flora and fauna.

The heart of the park is a large, air-conditioned greenhouse where seasonal flowers bloom year-round. This space provides a unique opportunity to observe and interact directly with various types of birds. Please note that the specific bird species on display and the exhibition formats may change depending on the season and operational status.
The operating hours vary depending on the season. During the Summer Season (April 1 to November 30), the facility is open from 9:00 to 17:00. During the Winter Season (December 1 to March 31), it is open from 9:00 to 16:00. The final admission deadline is 16:30 in summer and 15:30 in winter. Because the plant displays change with the seasons, every visit offers a different beautiful landscape.

Visitors can enjoy hands-on experiences, particularly focusing on interacting with the birds. You can observe the birds up close or engage in direct contact. Additionally, the park occasionally hosts seasonal events and special activities, such as riddle-solving games, to enhance the visitor experience.
Fuji Kachoen is situated in the scenic Asagiri Plateau area at the western foot of Mt. Fuji. The surrounding area is rich in nature, offering breathtaking views of the mountain. It is highly recommended to include this park as part of a larger sightseeing route through the Fujinomiya/Mt. Fuji region.

Since the interior is fully air-conditioned, you can stay comfortable regardless of the season, though we recommend dressing appropriately for the outdoor temperature when traveling to the site. Please note that payment at the reception desk is primarily handled in cash. Additionally, tickets are non-refundable once purchased, so please confirm your plans in advance. We ask that all visitors follow proper etiquette to ensure the well-being of the birds and the preservation of the plants.
