Dynaland is a versatile resort located in the Takasu area of Gujo, Gifu Prefecture, offering leisure activities throughout all four seasons. While winter is centered around high-quality skiing and snowboarding, the facility is famous for its 'Yoru-Dynaland' night sessions and the 'Baboon' area, a dedicated space for children's play during the summer. This variety makes it a beloved destination for everyone from professional athletes to families looking for a seasonal escape.
Nestled at the foot of Mount Dainichi, Dynaland has long served as a central hub for winter sports in the region. It is part of a larger, prestigious ski resort area that includes nearby destinations like Hirugano Kogen, known for its excellent snow quality and breathtaking natural scenery. The facility has a long history of adapting to the seasons, ensuring that even when the snow melts, the community can enjoy the natural beauty through various outdoor play and leisure activities.

The facility offers diverse-interest zones for both enthusiasts and families. In winter, the night skiing area provides a magical experience, allowing visitors to glide through illuminated slopes under the stars. For families, the 'Baboon' area becomes a highlight during warmer months, featuring equipment like long swings, mini zip lines, and sled coasters, ensuring fun even without snow. The scenic views from the lifts and the seasonal floral landscapes also offer a peaceful way to enjoy the mountains.
The peak winter season runs from December to March, focusing on skiing and snowboarding. A standout experience is the 'Yoru-Dynaland' night session, which operates until 23:00, offering a mystical atmosphere for night-time carving. During the summer (roughly July to October), parts of the slopes are transformed into a playground, making it an ideal spot for outdoor activities. Additionally, from December 20th to March 15th, early morning sessions are available on weekends and holidays, perfect for those who love the crisp, clear morning air.
Beyond traditional skiing, Dynaland offers a variety of ways to move through the snow, including snowscooting and dual boarding. In the summer, the focus shifts to nature-based play and exploration. To make the most of your visit, we recommend checking the official calendar for seasonal events and competitions, which add extra excitement to your trip.
For a seamless resort experience, the 'Villa Montsen' hotel is located right next to the facility. There are also numerous local guest houses and cottages nearby, making it easy to organize group stays or family vacations. The location also serves as an excellent base for exploring the wider Gifu natural landscape, with easy access to the Shiratori and Hirugano Kogen areas.
For winter visitors, please ensure you have heavy thermal wear, gloves, goggles, and a helmet. Regarding payments, both cash and credit cards (lump-sum payments only) are accepted, though credit card transactions are typically handled on-site after the start of operations. Please note that pets are strictly prohibited on the premises. Additionally, as the facility does not provide ski insurance, we highly recommend purchasing personal sports insurance through your local provider or sports shop before arrival.
