DINO Dinosaur PARK Yanbaru Subtropical Forest is a unique dinosaur theme park nestled within the Yanbaru region of Nago City, Okinawa. The park is set amidst a primeval forest of Cyatheales (tree ferns) that evokes the landscape of approximately 100 million years ago. Here, over 80 dinosaurs, including the legendary Tyrannosaurus Rex, Stegosaurus, and Brachiosaurus, come to life with realistic movements and roaring sounds. The fusion of subtropical vegetation, seasonal flowers, and prehistoric creatures creates a one-of-a-kind atmosphere that transports visitors to an ancient era.
The park recreates a prehistoric world using the natural backdrop of the Yanbaru forest, a precious ecosystem in Okinawa. The presence of ancient plants like the Cyatheales helps convey the essence of Earth's history. This location serves as a bridge between the prehistoric era and modern-day Okinawa, offering both educational value and high-quality entertainment. Furthermore, the park is closely connected to the culture of its operator, Okashigoten, helping to spread Okinawa's food culture and tourism through unique souvenirs and original goods.

The park features a diverse range of dinosaurs, including the iconic Tyrannosaurus Rex often seen in films. These are not mere models; they are highly detailed exhibits equipped with motion and sound effects to provide an immersive experience. As you walk along the paths, you will enjoy the thrill of discovering dinosaurs suddenly appearing from behind trees or finding dinosaur eggs hidden in the ground. The lush subtropical plants and the changing colors of seasonal flowers also provide a stunning natural landscape that complements the prehistoric theme.
The park is open year-round, and the changing seasons offer different botanical beauties. Because the seasonal flowers change throughout the year, your visit will always offer a fresh perspective. During the day, sunlight filtering through the canopy enhances the mystical atmosphere of the forest. In the late afternoon, the shifting light creates dramatic silhouettes of the dinosaurs, making for a truly cinematic experience. It is a wonderful way for families and couples to immerse themselves in a world where nature and prehistory meet.

Walking through the forest feels like a true jungle expedition. Listening to the echoes of dinosaur roars while wandering through the primeval forest provides a sense of time travel. After your walk, don't forget to visit the 'Dinosaur Shop' at the end of the course. You can find a variety of unique items, including dinosaur-themed sweets (such as the popular 'Gao Gao Dinosaur Cookies'), plush toys, books, and even dinosaur-themed neckties. It is a perfect place to find a special souvenir or a unique gift for children.
The area around the park is dotted with spots to enjoy Okinawa's natural beauty. For instance, the Izumi area features the 'Izumi Mikan Village,' where you can relax in a peaceful, natural environment. If you are looking for larger-scale experiences, you can also plan your trip around nearby attractions like the upcoming 'JUNGLIA OKINAWA.' Visiting the park alongside the Nago city center or the Okashigoten Nago store will make your northern Okinawa itinerary even more fulfilling.
Since the park is located within a natural forest, visitors will be walking through a wooded area. While the paths are well-maintained, we recommend wearing comfortable, easy-to-move-in clothing and sturdy walking shoes. As it is a subtropical environment, please bring water for hydration and a hat to protect yourself from the sun. Regarding payment, the system is shared with the Okashigoten Nago store; please have both cash and credit cards ready for smooth transactions at the shop or nearby facilities. Photography is permitted, but please be mindful of the natural environment and other visitors to ensure a pleasant experience for everyone.
