One of its most distinctive features is that the temperature at the summit is typically about 6 degrees Celsius lower than at the foot of the mountain, making it an ideal escape for staying cool even during the summer months. The terrace area is designed with an open, Western-style resort atmosphere, featuring various cafes and restaurants where you can enjoy food and drinks while gazing at the vast landscape.

Access to Biwako Terrace is primarily via the ropeway. Parking lots are available at the base of the mountain, and access by car is the most common method. However, please note that these trails are not managed by the resort facility, so serious hikers should bring appropriate mountain gear. For a comfortable resort experience, please stick to the paths and facilities provided within the resort area.
Because of the high altitude, the temperature at the summit is significantly lower than in the cities below. We highly recommend bringing a light jacket or an extra layer of clothing, even in the summer. While the terraces and decks are well-maintained, comfortable clothing and shoes are recommended if you plan to participate in activities like the lifts or zipline. Payments are typically made at the counter; please check the specific payment methods available upon arrival. If you are traveling with pets, a separate fee of 1,000 JPY is required.
