The ANA Blue Hangar Tour is a unique program provided by the ANA Group's maintenance division, allowing visitors to enter the actual hangar where aircraft maintenance takes place. The greatest highlight is the ability to observe the massive scale of real aircraft, the sounds of the facility, and the professional maintenance site from a very close distance. It offers a precious opportunity to learn about the advanced maintenance technologies and the rigorous safety standards that support safe air travel.
This tour is conducted as part of the ANA Group's social contribution initiatives. Its purpose is to increase public awareness of the vital role played by the 'Maintenance Division' in ensuring flight safety. Beyond a simple tour, the facility includes areas designed to help visitors understand the importance of maintenance through simulated experiences, playing a key role in communicating Japan's technical prowess and commitment to safety.
The biggest highlight is the sight of giant aircraft resting inside the hangar. You will feel the overwhelming scale of the planes, the sounds of the maintenance environment, and the precise movements of professional engineers. Additionally, the tour provides an introduction to the various companies within the ANA Group and features facilities where you can experience simulated maintenance tasks, deepening your understanding of aviation from multiple perspectives.
The tour is held five days a week, from Tuesday to Saturday (closed on Sundays, Mondays, public holidays, and during the New Year holidays). There are five time slots throughout the day between 9:30 and 16:45. Additionally, there is a 30-minute window before and after the tour to browse the exhibition hall introducing the e.TEAM ANA (maintenance division), allowing you to maximize your time to deepen your knowledge of aviation maintenance.
Participants can observe how actual aircraft are maintained through the hangar tour. The facility also provides equipment for simulated maintenance experiences, allowing visitors to understand the maintenance process intuitively rather than just through theory. This makes it an excellent educational experience not only for aviation fans but also for children.
As this facility is located within the industrial area of the airport, there are no tourist attractions in the immediate vicinity. After the tour, you will need to use public transportation to move to central Tokyo or other nearby areas. It is highly recommended to plan your travel using public transport in advance.
Advance internet reservation is mandatory to participate in this tour. For safety reasons, the minimum age requirement is 6 years old (or 1st grade of elementary school and above). Please note that children under elementary school age are not permitted, even if accompanied by a guardian.
