At Netsunoyu, a landmark of Kusatsu Onsen, you can experience the 'Yumomi and Odori' show, a performance that engages all your senses with traditional Japanese hot spring culture. 'Yumomi' is a traditional technique where wooden paddles are used to vigorously stir the hot spring water to regulate its temperature. In this show, you can witness the dynamic splashing of the water up close while enjoying traditional Japanese dances.
The greatest thrill is the high-energy 'Yumomi' performance, where water splashes can fly into the air. The energetic movements of the performers, dressed in traditional attire, are truly breathtaking. Beyond just watching, there are programs available where you can actually try the Yumomi technique yourself, allowing for a hands-on experience. It is a unique form of entertainment that captures both the history and the lively spirit of Kusatsu Onsen.
The 'Yumomi and Odori' show is generally held in two sessions: morning and afternoon.
