"Waku Waku! Summer Craft Square" is a seasonal event held in front of the Sawada Yusui Nature House at Hitachi Seaside Park. This event is designed specifically for the summer holidays, offering various hands-on craft experiences that children will love. It also features 'Yo-Yo fishing,' a classic symbol of Japanese summer festivals. It is a wonderful way to spend time in an open, natural environment while fostering creativity.
The biggest draw of this event is the variety of craft experiences that change periodically. Depending on the day, children can try making kaleidoscopes, telescopes, insect guns, or even planetarium bottles. Additionally, the daily Yo-Yo fishing is a huge hit among children. Creating your own original work with your hands amidst nature will surely become a cherished summer memory for your little ones.

The venue is located in front of the "Sawada Yusui Nature House" within Hitachi Seaside Park. Since the park is very large, we recommend checking your destination on a map beforehand.
Craft experiences are handled via on-site registration. No advance reservation is required, but please note that materials are limited. Popular crafts and Yo-Yo fishing may end early once supplies are exhausted, so we recommend arriving in the morning. Please note that activities may change depending on the weather.
Please wear comfortable clothing suitable for crafting and playing. The participation fee for crafts ranges from approximately 100 to 300 JPY depending on the activity. Registration is done on-site on the day of the event. Please note that the event may be canceled in the case of rain.
