Ezu Lake, a beloved symbol of Kumamoto City, will host the 'Saishunkan Seiyakusho TKU Ezu Lake Fireworks Display 2026.' This spectacular event features approximately 10,000 fireworks that brilliantly illuminate the dark night sky and the lake surface, showcasing the beauty of Kumamoto's 'City of Water.'
The main highlight is the 'Music Fireworks,' where the fireworks are launched in perfect synchronization with music. This creates a colorful and immersive spectacle across the night sky and the lake. Additionally, the area around the venue will be lively with food stalls, creating a vibrant festival atmosphere.
Date: Saturday, August 29, 2026. The fireworks are scheduled to begin at 7:15 PM and last for approximately one hour. Please note that in the event of bad weather, the display may be postponed to the following day, Sunday, August 30.
The venue is the area around Shimoezu Lake (Suizenji Ezu Lake Park, Hiroki District). Expect heavy crowds and significant traffic congestion on the day of the event. Traffic restrictions will be in place around the venue.
Enjoy the seamless integration of nature and light at Ezu Lake. The 'Music Fireworks' are a unique feature of this event. You can also experience the lively atmosphere of a traditional Japanese summer festival through the many food stalls nearby.
As this is a nighttime outdoor event, we recommend bringing a light jacket or clothing suitable for temperature changes at night. Please carry cash, as many local food stalls may not accept cards.
