Guida
Tenno Matsuri is a traditional ritual held within the historic streets of Gujo City, Gifu Prefecture. Historically, this festival served as the official opening day for the famous Gujo Odori dance. Set against the backdrop of the beautiful traditional houses of Kamidono-cho and the rituals of Yasaka Shrine, it creates a magical atmosphere that announces the arrival of summer.
The main highlight is the stunning scenery where historic architecture meets the refreshing decorations along the river. The decorations along the Tennodogawa River enhance the nostalgic summer mood. As this event marks the start of the Guзо Odori season, you can feel the vibrant energy of the traditional dances. For photographers, the area near the dedicated bus parking lot offers a perfect vantage point to capture the circle of dancers against the historic streetscape.
