Oiyamakasa Narashi is a crucial preparatory event for the Hakata Gion Yamakasa, one of Fukuoka's most iconic traditional festivals. This practice serves as a rehearsal for the grand climax, 'Oiyama.' A highlight is the sight of the 'Running Yamakasa'—elaborately decorated floats that race through the streets of Kamikawabata-dori, captivating spectators with their speed and scale. The main attraction is the sheer dynamism of the massive floats racing through the city streets. You can witness the 'Running Yamakasa' style, where floats adorned with magnificent dolls and decorations move with incredible speed.
