"Art Museum Expedition: Kids' Exploration Team" is an interactive appreciation program held at the Nagano Prefectural Art Museum (NAM), designed for children (elementary school and below) and their guardians. Through questions like "What do you think this place is for?" or "How does this artwork make you feel?", participants explore the artworks and the museum building itself. The goal is to go beyond simple viewing and deeply engage with the environment and architecture through meaningful dialogue.
The greatest appeal of this event is "Dialogic Appreciation," which values a child's free intuition and conversation. By verbalizing discoveries such as "What is happening here?" while looking at artworks, participants can encounter new perspectives they might have otherwise missed. By treating the entire space—from the exhibition rooms to the exterior—as one field of exploration, families can build a deeper understanding and familiarity with the museum while fostering rich imagination.
This event will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026.
The venue is the Collection Exhibition Room at the Nagano Prefectural Art Museum (NAM).
