"Mori to Mizu in Tsunatori" is a hands-on event held annually during the "Nature and Dam Appreciation Period" from July 21st to 31st. Set around the Tsunori Dam in Morioka, Iwate, it offers a unique chance to see the inner workings of a dam and engage with the local environment. Highlights & Activities
The biggest draw is the rare opportunity to tour the inside of the dam, allowing you to feel the massive scale and structure up close. The event is packed with sensory experiences, such as "fish catching" for children, "woodworking workshops" using natural materials, and "plant observation sessions" led by experts. It is a perfect blend of learning and play in the great outdoors.

The event is split between two locations: the "Tsunatori Dam Management Office" and "Okutsu Natural Park." As they are about 1km apart, a shuttle bus or vehicle will be provided.

*Free Shuttle Bus**: A free bus runs from the Iwate Prefectural Office and Yamagishi Elementary School via Tsunatori Dam to Okutsu Natural Park. Please check official schedules in advance.

What to Bring & Wear
*Clothing**: The dam interior involves climbing about 250 steps. Please wear **comfortable walking shoes** as some areas are slippery. The temperature inside is around 10°C, so bring a **light jacket**. For fish catching, bring **clothes that can get wet, a change of clothes, and a towel**.
*Essentials**: There are no convenience stores or vending machines nearby. Please bring your own **lunch, drinks, snacks, and rain gear**.
*Heatstroke Prevention**: Please stay hydrated as it can be hot during the day.
