As part of the 'Future Scientist Lab' at the Yamanashi Prefectural Science Center, we host various hands-on events including experiment and craft workshops. This program aims to go beyond simple learning by allowing participants to directly experience scientific phenomena through active experimentation and creation.
The greatest appeal of this event is the opportunity to move beyond just observing exhibits to actually performing experiments and crafts. Programs include a variety of activities such as making a 'Syringe Rocket' using air pressure, creating beautiful 'Galaxy Bottles,' and building 'Spinning UFOs.' Participants can experience scientific principles using familiar tools and materials.
Dates and times vary depending on the specific program. For example, some programs run from July 11 to July 31, 2026, while others are limited to specific Saturdays and Sundays. Since details change based on the timing, please check the official website in advance. Some sessions may also be divided into morning and afternoon slots.
The venue is the Yamanashi Prefectural Science Center, which provides an ideal environment for experiments and crafts. Please check the signage within the museum on the day of your visit for specific locations.
There are restrictions regarding age and content for each program. For instance, some programs require a guardian to accompany preschool-aged children, while others are designed specifically for elementary school students and above. Because schedules can be constrained by specific dates (such as not being held on weekdays or being reserved for school groups), checking the schedule in advance is highly recommended.
We recommend wearing comfortable clothing suitable for movement during experiments and crafts. Please also note the following:
