Ryotanji Temple will host a special nighttime viewing of its scenic garden from November 27 to November 29, 2026. Known as an ancient temple of the Enshu region, Ryotanji offers a unique opportunity to witness the garden's beauty illuminated under the stillness of the night, distinct from regular visiting hours.
The main highlight is the illuminated scenic garden. Experience a mystical landscape of light and shadow that differs greatly from the daytime. The way the seasonal plants and historic temple architecture are highlighted by the night lights creates a breathtaking view unique to this season. Observe the harmony between nature and the garden's structural beauty in the quiet night air.
The event is held on the following dates:
Location: Ryotanji Temple. Access is available via the surrounding roads (along Prefectural Route 320). Parking is available, but please drive carefully as it is a nighttime event.
As this is a nighttime event, the surroundings will be dark. Please watch your step carefully while admiring the illuminated garden. Additionally, the shop may sell unique items such as "Unagi (Eel) Ice Cream" and "Ii Naotora" merchandise, but please check the shop's operating status in advance.
Since the viewing takes place outdoors at night, appropriate clothing is essential. As temperatures drop in late November, we highly recommend bringing warm clothing for heat protection.
