Every year on December 31st, Tamaki Jinja holds the 'Joya Sai' (New Year's Eve Festival). This is a sacred ritual to conclude the year and welcome the new one in a divine atmosphere.

- Prepare for extreme cold: The rituals take place in a very cold mountain environment. We strongly recommend bringing a heavy jacket, gloves, and heat packs.
- Bring Cash: Please prepare cash (coins and 1,000 yen notes) for purchasing amulets, Ema, or making offerings.
- Check the Time: Rituals like Joya Taiko and Shinshun Ichiban Taiko have different start times. Please adjust your arrival time based on the specific ritual you wish to see.
