Located in the heart of Tottori City, the "Saturday Night Market" at Hondori Shotengai is a representative summer event of Tottori with over 60 years of history. Held annually from late July to early August, the shopping district becomes a pedestrian-only zone filled with numerous food stalls and night markets. This cherished tradition connects the local summer scenery to future generations.
The greatest charm is seeing the everyday shopping street transform into a bustling festival venue for one night. The sight of colorful tents and stalls illuminated by traditional lanterns under the arcade captures the true essence of a Japanese summer. We recommend a leisurely stroll through the pedestrian zone while enjoying local delicacies and various food stalls. It is a perfect way to experience the traditional Japanese summer atmosphere with family or friends.
The event is scheduled for the following four dates in 2026:
Operating Hours: 17:30 to 21:00. You can enjoy the atmosphere as the city builds excitement from dusk into the night.
Venue: Tottori Hondori Shotengai (Pedestrian-only area). During the event, vehicle access is restricted to ensure a safe space for pedestrians. Located in central Tottori City, it is easily accessible by public transport or on foot. Feel free to explore the area while visiting nearby shops and facilities.
We strongly recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes as you will be navigating the pedestrian-only shopping area. To ensure smooth transactions at food stalls, please prepare small change or cash. As this is an outdoor summer event, dress appropriately for the temperature and weather. Arriving with plenty of time to enjoy the lively atmosphere is key.
