The Hayachine Jinja Annual Grand Festival is a traditional ritual held at Hayichi Jinja, located in the Osa-machi area of Hanamaki City, Iwate Prefecture. Hayachine Jinja has a profound history, having been established over a three-year period starting in 1610 as the inner shrine of Gakumyo-senshi, the prayer site for Mount Hayachine, which was considered the eastern guardian of the Morioka Clan. This festival features traditional Shinto rituals and the dedication of Hayachine Kagura.
The main highlight of this festival is the solemnity of the Shinto rituals deeply connected to the history of Hayachine Jinja. In particular, the dedication of Kagura (sacred dance) is a symbolic event representing the spiritual culture of this region.
