"Minato HANABI 2026 - 5 Days of Color in Kobe" is a special marine fireworks event designed to celebrate and revitalize the beautiful Kobe waterfront. As 2026 marks the significant 5th anniversary of the event, the fireworks displays are expected to be even more spectacular than usual. You can enjoy this enchanting spectacle, perfectly harmonized with Kobe's iconic night scenery, directly from Meriken Park.
The greatest draw is the seamless integration of the marine fireworks with Kobe's stunning cityscape. To celebrate the 5th anniversary, special choreographed displays will light up the sky, creating a dramatic and colorful atmosphere against the waterfront. Although the display is concentrated into a 20-minute window, it is a high-impact, unforgettable experience that captures the essence of the city's beauty.
The fireworks are scheduled to take place from 18:30 to 18:50 (approximately 20 minutes) on each designated date. Because the display is short and intense, we recommend arriving at the venue early to secure a good viewing spot.
The primary viewing area is Meriken Park, a prime location on the Kobe waterfront that offers an unobstructed view of the sea and the fireworks. As the area is expected to be very crowded, we highly recommend using public transportation to reach the venue.
Please note that this event is organized without food or merchandise stalls (yatai) within the immediate viewing area. We suggest preparing your own snacks and drinks in advance or utilizing nearby shops and restaurants. To celebrate the 5th anniversary, the event is also being promoted in collaboration with local businesses to create a city-wide festive atmosphere.
Since the waterfront can become quite chilly at night, we recommend bringing a light jacket or extra layers for warmth. As there are no food stalls on-site, please ensure you have your own refreshments. For specific details regarding reservations or facilities, please consult the official website.
