The Matsue Suigosai Lake Fireworks Display is one of Japan's most prestigious large-scale fireworks festivals, held on the beautiful waters of Lake Shinji in Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture. This event offers a truly magical experience where the night sky and the lake surface become one through light. In addition to traditional fireworks, the inclusion of a cutting-edge drone show makes this a highly sophisticated and colorful summer highlight.
The greatest draw is the massive scale of the production, uniquely possible on the vast expanse of Lake Shinji. You can witness powerful displays such as large-caliber shells launched simultaneously from four different barges, continuous diagonal firing, and rapid-fire star mines. The synergy between the fireworks reflecting on the water and the synchronized drone show creates a unique artistic experience that can only be found here. We invite you to immerse yourself in this masterpiece of light and shadow.
The event is scheduled to take place on the following dates in 2026:
The venue is the eastern shore of Lake Shinji (Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture).
Traffic restrictions are expected around the venue area. Depending on the type of paid viewing seats you select, access may be restricted during certain periods. We recommend checking your travel route in advance to ensure a smooth arrival.
For the best view of the powerful displays, using paid spectator seats is highly recommended. For example, the Konan area allows you to witness the massive shells launched from the four barges from a very close and dynamic perspective. Some locations, such as the pair seats at the Shiga-Minato Shinji Bridge, offer unique viewing angles that are usually pedestrian walkways. As crowds are expected to be large, please secure your tickets and plan your transportation in advance.
