Event Overview

The Koga Chochin Sao-momi Matsuri is a high-energy festival that showcases the deep history and traditions of Koga. The main highlight is the 'Sao-momi'—the intense sight of massive lanterns hanging from poles clashing against each other. This spectacle creates an overwhelming atmosphere of heat and excitement. Since it is held in winter, special arrangements are made so you can experience this fervor up close while staying warm.

Highlights & How to Enjoy

The most breathtaking moment is when the lanterns collide overhead. The powerful movements and the glow of the lanterns against the night sky will captify any observer. To elevate your experience, we highly recommend the Special Viewing Seats.
