The Kiryu Yagibushi Festival is one of the largest and most spirited summer celebrations held in the heart of Kiryu City, Gunma Prefecture. This event is a unique fusion of the historic 'Kiryu Gion Festival'—a ritual dedicated to the deity Suitenno—and the rhythmic 'Yagibushi' folk dance. This creates a breathtaking atmosphere where ancient traditions meet modern-day excitement. Held for three days starting from the first Friday of August, the central streets of Kiryu (including Honcho, Suehirocho, and Nishikicho) transform into a massive 2.5km pedestrian zone, teeming with life and celebration.

The festivities take place throughout the central district of Kiryu City. The main area spans from the Honcho 5-chome intersection to the north, towards the Kiryu Tenmangu Shrine, and extends through the pedestrian zones of Honcho, Suehirocho, and Nishikicho.
