The Hokukoku Hanabi Kanazawa Festival is a beloved summer tradition for the people of Kanazawa. As the only large-scale fireworks display held in the central Kanazawa area, it features approximately 12,000 fireworks that vividly color the night sky. The dynamic performance of light and sound unfolds primarily over the Saigawa River banks.
The main highlight is the grand symphony of light and sound created by the 12,000 fireworks. While the riverbank is the primary viewing area, you can also enjoy the beautiful displays from surrounding elevated areas or from the rooftops of buildings. Experience a dreamlike scenery that perfectly complements the historic atmosphere of Kanazawa.
The event will be held on July 26, 2025. In the event of bad weather, it is scheduled to be postponed to the following day, July 27, 2025. The fireworks display is expected to begin at 19:50.
The venue is the area around Saigawa Green Space (Ken'ei Mameda Simple Ground) near Mamedahonmachi, Kanazawa. There is no parking available near the venue, so please use public transportation or the shuttle buses.

Since the event is located in the heart of the city, we recommend planning your visit alongside your stay at local hotels or other sightseeing spots. The riverbank area is expected to be very crowded, so consider arriving early to secure a spot or viewing from an elevated area.
As this is a nighttime outdoor event, we recommend bringing a light jacket for the evening breeze and wearing comfortable shoes. There is no parking available, so please ensure you use the shuttle buses or public transportation. Please check the official website for the latest updates and any necessary reservations.
