"Furusato Hanabi in Naganuma" is a breathtaking fireworks display set against the backdrop of Naganuma, the largest lake in Miyagi Prefecture. This event is famous for its unique displays that are rare in inland areas, such as water-surface star mines and a massive 200m Niagara waterfall. Approximately 3,000 fireworks will illuminate both the night sky and the tranquil lake surface, creating a truly magical atmosphere. This beloved local festival continues to enchant visitors from near and far.
The biggest highlight is the water-based performance. The "water-surface star mines" create a stunning reflection on the lake, making the light appear even more brilliant than a standard display. The massive 200m Niagara waterfall is the absolute highlight of the evening. From the spacious Naganuma Futopia Park, you can enjoy an unobstructed, powerful view of the sky. Find your perfect spot to witness the seamless fusion of light and water.
The event takes place on August 13. The fireworks are scheduled to be launched from 19:00 to 21:00. Please note that the event will proceed in light rain, but in the case of severe weather, it may be postponed to the following day.
The venue is Naganuma Futopia Park in Tome City, Miyagi Prefecture.
There are 800 free parking spaces available near the venue. However, heavy traffic is expected, so we recommend arriving early. Please note that traffic restrictions are generally not implemented for this event.
There are no paid reserved seats, so anyone can enjoy the fireworks for free. Naganuma Futopia Park is a vast area with no obstructions, offering great views from many points. However, because it attracts many people, planning is essential. The crowds can be intense after the show, so we strongly recommend booking accommodation or arranging your return transport in advance.
As this is an outdoor summer night event, please prepare for heat and insects. We recommend bringing a picnic mat, a mobile battery, insect repellent, a towel, and wet wipes for a comfortable experience. Since it will be dark at night, please wear comfortable walking shoes. For details on payments or specific rules, please check the official website.
